Fresh Air

A/N: I am writing this short story and my new longer story at the same time, and it’s clear that all my blogs are going to have one common element: cats.  (Of course, they also have romance, hockey players, feisty heroines and sex, but really what fanfic blog doesn't?)  This may be because my own cats tend to sit near me when I’m writing, there’s a warm and fluffy gray one on the chair behind me as I write this. But in the case of this story, it's because the hero does have a cat in real life!  A single guy with a cat named Chubby? What's not to love?

I’m writing this story as I have time, so I won’t be posting nightly, but here goes. It's probably not surprising that I'm unable to write a one-shot story, and I think this will be about three chapters long.  Much as I curse my Canucks for not winning me the Ryan Kesler story I have always wanted,  it's been surprisingly fun to write about someone new and different.

The score

Penguins 3, Canucks 1.

And I have to say, old Kris Letang played mighty well.

Stay tuned for your Alex Goligoski story!

Game day

Hmm, I've been reading the betting lines on the big Vancouver at Pittsburgh game tonight, and discovered that I don't understand what the numbers mean. Vancouver (100) vs. Pittsburgh (-120). Also 5 1/2, whatever that means!  Lacking a helpful high roller to educate me, I finally found something written in English, and apparently Pittsburgh are the favourites tonight.

We shall see!

MelTing's Pick

Well, in reality I am against getting involved with happily married family men, but in fantasy...what the heck!  He's been on fire lately, and that's not even including the underwear ad, so I choose Ryan Kesler.

Jay's Pick

With the Canucks at Pens game approaching quickly (this weekend, on Sunday edit: whoops, this WEDNESDAY, wtf was I thinking?), I'm declaring my pick for our bet. As if it were any surprise, the player of my choice for the bet is Pens defenseman Alex Goligoski.

Go Pens!!

The bet

On Wednesday, November 14th 2010, the Vancouver Canucks (my team) are taking on the Pittsburgh Penguins (Jay's team). So....in honour of this annual event, Jay and I have a little bet. The winner gets a one shot fanfic written about the player of her choice.

So stay tuned for the results, which will be exciting!
